Instagram rewards behavior that can be mined for data that way they can sell you advertisements while pushing their consumerist suggestions, which, if it doesn't cost you literal money, it does cost you a different kind of currency that we don't think about: attention.
For those millenials that bathe in the memory and memes of the MySpace era where we touched autonomy, albiet lightly, through creating our own templates and layouts, this is an opportunity to return to "the land", so to speak, of the Digital World.
